Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation / Network Software Test Technical Lead to support ongoing test automation, feature validation, and regression testing for complex networking software. This contractor will be engaged through Agency and will work closely with our engineering teams to deliver high-quality automated and manual test coverage for key product areas.
This is a project-based contract assignment, not a full-time employee role

Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation / Network Software Test Technical Lead to support ongoing test automation, feature validation, and regression testing for complex networking software. This contractor will be engaged through Agency and will work closely with our engineering teams to deliver high-quality automated and manual test coverage for key product areas.
This is a project-based contract assignment, not a full-time employee role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and write comprehensive test plans for networking features and solutions
- Conduct manual and automated testing of networking software using Python
- Triage, reproduce, and document internal and customer-reported issues
- Automate test cases and integrate them into the existing regression framework
- Perform peer reviews of test plans, automation code, feature specifications, and engineering documentation
- Design and build test network topologies to evaluate performance, stability, and scalability
- Plan, track, and periodically report project status and deliverables
Required Skills & Experience
- BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Strong ability to write high-quality automated test cases in Python
- 8+ years of hands-on networking test experience, including protocols such as:
- STP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, BFD, MLAG, EVPN, VXLAN, SR-MPLS, SRv6
- Proficiency with IXIA for developing data path and control plane test cases
- Experience enhancing or extending automation frameworks for customer use cases and cross-feature integration
- Working knowledge of test harnesses such as Robot Framework, Jinja2 templating
- Experience with development and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, JIRA
- Familiarity with Docker, containerized workflows, and VMs
- Understanding of network merchant silicon chipsets and whitebox platforms
- Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools such as Windsurf or Cursor
- Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced, venture-backed environment
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex networking environments
- The selected individual will be employed by Agency, not directly by our company
- Compensation, payroll, and statutory compliance are managed by Agency
- The contractor will receive day-to-day direction from our engineering leadership
- System access will be provided as required to perform project duties
